Networks

Cabled Networks
Infrastructure installation is the physical connection of computers, servers and peripherals in order to form a network.
The design of a network, be it large or small is extremely important and requires considerable planning.
The results of poor planning can be extensive. These include poor overall performance and unexpected future expense.

Proposals by Silicon Bullet will be based on industry standards such as Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6 and fibre optic cabling. Because we are truly independent we will advise on the best products to suit your network and of course your budget.
Our network service includes:

  • Structured Cabling Design
  • Structured Cabling Installation
  • Voice & Data Integration
  • Upgrades from existing networks
  • Expansion i.e. Wide Area Networks using VPN’s, routers and bridges
  • Cabinets
  • Cable Testing
  • We can manage the arrangements and installations of various comms setups including ADSL (broadband); Fibre, Leased line and SDSL internet connectivity, and VPN’s (Virtual Private Networks). A VPN can be useful for setting up secure communications for site to site links or remote worker connections back to head office.

Wireless Networks
Wireless networking  or wifi is a useful technology, but can have special challenges for successful implementation. Easier sites may have a simple installation, but more complex setups are needed in challenging environments, which may include the need for a wireless survey to ensure  best results.

We can provide you with a Wireless extension to your LAN or just your laptop. This is an easy and secure way of allowing your guests or office workers with laptops to connect to the network, no need to go looking for your cat5 cable or network card dongle when you can just log in wirelessly. Wireless networking is extremely safe as all connections are fully encrypted to block unwanted intruders to your network.

Server Installations
We offer a new server installation service including all hardware and operating system components such as:

Dell, Acer, Fujitsu, IBM and Hewlett Packard hardware as well as bespoke systems built to the user’s specification.
