Sage Accounts 2015 Service Pack 5

Sage have released Service pack 5 for Sage Instant Accounts 2015 and Sage 50 Accounts 2015.  This update is not being automatically suggested when you check for updates, but needs to be manually downloaded and applied.

We recommend installing this update if you are having issues with Sage crashing during the backup, or if you are using the Sage Drive, as these are issues which are covered by this update amongst others.

Changes to Settlement Discounts

If you offer Settlement Discounts to your customers then the way you need to account for VAT on the invoices has changed as of 1st April 2015.  For details on the changes and how to account for them then you can refer to  – Sage Accounts – To account for VAT when using settlement or prompt payment discount.  Service Pack 5 includes the changes required to correctly account for the changes in handling the VAT.

Manually Downloading the Update

Browse to www.sage.co.uk/au and select the appropriate software and your current version number, which can be found in your software on the Help -> About page under program details.  If you have previously installed Service Pack 4 as covered in our previous blog post you will already be on 21.3.6.108.  If you have not installed previous updates then choose the correct version number for your installation and download and install the updates in the correct order.

Final Version

When you have installed the updates as instructed then you should be on version 21.4.7.159, this is the case for both Sage 50 and Sage Instant.

If you are having problems installing the update and you are on a subscription with support or you have Sage Cover then Sage Support will be able to guide you through the process.  If you would like to sign up to Sage Cover, or would like to know how we at Silicon Bullet can support you then please get in touch.
